Our volunteers address rural issues, impacting all rural residents; promote leadership development; provide organizational structure; and
promote partnerships to increase community involvement in rural natural
resource issues. We also provide clerical assistance and serve as financial
administrator of grants and other funds.

 "Growing
for the Market" ~ This series offers current and aspiring
farmers the opportunity to learn about the emerging consumer demand for
locally produced farm products and identify which of these products is
appropriate for their operation.

 Indiana HomeTown
Competitiveness (IHTC) ~ A multi-sponsored tool to assist Indiana
rural communities accomplish their economic and community development
goals is accepting applications from local communities.
The pillars of this program will help communities focus on:
~ Mobilizing local leaders and building
community civic capacity
~
Energizing local entrepreneurs to build strong economies
~Capturing
wealth transfer to raise development dollars
~Attracting
young people to strengthen community demographics
This program has a proven record of helping smaller and more rural
communities build significantly stronger and more sustainable
development. The sponsors have committed their various resources
to help communities initiate, implement, and sustain the activities
associated with these four pillars.

Tree Planting Grant
Opportunity

have formed a community tree planting partnership to assist with small
to medium communities, neighborhoods, and nonprofit organizations in
purchasing and planting trees on public property.

defined as a working farm or any agricultural, horticultural or
agribusiness operation with the purpose of enjoyment, education or
active involvement in the activities of the farm or operation.
- Value-Added Agriculture
Revolving Loan ~ Low-interest financing for small and start-up
agri-businesses.
- Apollo Landfill ~
Serving on the closed landfill steering committee.
